I don't go across the bridge every day, but it was mild and sunny this morning, and Islay wasn't quite as stiff as she has been, so we headed for the Offa's Dyke Path.
On the town side of the bridge, up until now, there has been a road sign, powered by a little solar panel. When cars come across the bridge fairly slowly, it stays dark, but when they approach at over 30 miles an hour, the sign lights up '30', to warn them to slow down for the impending junction.
Or at least, it did. It's disappeared entirely now, though there is a sort of socket in the pavement where it could be put back.

It looks like new picnic benches are being put in place on the site of the old Toll House.
I hope the bench reappears outside the HSBC and that it wasn't stolen. Street furniture theft is on the increase all over the country. Some of the old London benches are over a 100-years-old and are solid teak. A council man told me they can fetch a thousand pounds each on the black market.
There's a new bench outside the HSBC bank AND another outside Barclays! So now, when people go to Barclays on a Wednesday, they have somewhere to sit and wait till it opens on Thursday! Progress! And then, people who eat fish and chips (leaving disgusting litter) who sit on the pavement also have somewhere to eat with comfort!
. . . and the good news is that a new bench has appeared outside HSBC today . . . AND a new bench outside Barclays too.

At the moment, Islay's on Meloxydyl from the vet's, but I think she might be ready to try something stronger.
I would just say look up whatever the vet may suggest next - those NSAIDs can have side effects (especially Rimadyl).Best Wishes.
