Photography Students

They're about to descend on Hay like the proverbial plague of locusts (except we are assured that they will be far more polite!).
Apparently, this is the third year that students from the Photography courses at Hereford College of Arts have descended on a local town or village to make a record of 'a day in the life'. They've already done Ledbury and Moreton-on-Lugg.
They'll be here on Tuesday, about 50 of them aged from 18 to 60, and they want to exhibit the results during the Hay Festival. A chap came round door to door with leaflets, so we would all be forewarned.

Lesley, I think their lecturer should have checked his dates for his students coming to Hay. Tuesday, as we know, is half-day closing so the town was a bit deserted this afternoon – apart from several cold and forlorn students ambling through the aisles in cosy and warm Booth's Books. I expect you had a few up at the Cinema Bookshop. They would have been better off coming on a Thursday when it's market day.

I thought about this, but, having had a bit of a consider, I think it's just as relevant to choose a quiet day to do the study as a busy one - and it compares with the Tuesdays they spent in Ledbury and Moreton-on-Lugg.

As a "guide" for the group, (I'm an ex-HCA student), I can report that the dawn-to-dusk day was especially successful because he weather was 100% good and challenging for the Photograpy Degree level team (of 45) winth alternating Mediterranean blue skies, snow showers, pitch black cloud-bases at times, + dazzling rays of Spring Sunshine, fantastic reflections on the Wye (under the Bridge) . . . And some specialised in Shop-Fronts, some on interiors, some of people pictures, + dogs (one chap got photos of 50 different dogs with their owners !) I specialised in taking some to hidden corners like working studios, carpenters benches, bakeries, garages, and pubs ! Nina Gustavsson, the top-class lecturer was overjoyed by the Life-of-Hay-Day.
